All MIBs › A4400-CPU-MIB
Category: Device Management, Vendor: 3Com
Description: Monitors CPU utilization on 3Com/USR NetServer 4400 remote access platforms, providing processor load statistics and utilization thresholds.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is A4400-CPU-MIB?
A4400-CPU-MIB is a narrowly scoped enterprise MIB for the 4400-series NetServer/PBX-style remote access platform, used to monitor processor-level health on that device (internally the module reuses PBX-style branch names such as pbxAgent and pbxState). It exposes CPU-oriented management objects including MIB version identification, agent/platform operational state, and CPU load statistics and thresholds under the a4400CPU branch. Its central purpose is monitoring hardware status of the device's processor: pbxState reflects the agent's operational condition while a4400CPU groups the actual utilization counters used to catch overload before it affects service. It has no notable dependency beyond standard SNMPv2 SMI conventions, being a self-contained, platform-specific module. It is deployed on 4400-series remote access platforms where operators need basic CPU load visibility to catch performance degradation before it affects session handling. Engineers can download the A4400-CPU-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in A4400-CPU-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- 3Com/USR NetServer 4400 remote access platform
- 4400-series PBX-style access processor
Monitoring Examples
An administrator polls objects under the a4400CPU branch for real-time processor load figures, and checks pbxState/pbxAgent to confirm the management agent is reporting normally. If pbxMibVersion shows an older-than-expected value, the running agent implementation may support fewer counters than assumed. A sustained high reading under a4400CPU while pbxState still reports normal operation flags a CPU nearing capacity, useful for raising a capacity alert before processing latency increases.
What Can Be Monitored
- CPU utilization/load
- CPU load thresholds
- MIB/agent version
- platform agent operational state
