Category: VLAN and Bridging, Vendor: 3Com

Description: Manages IGMP snooping on 3Com switch products, enabling multicast-aware switching to restrict multicast traffic to only interested subscriber ports.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is A3COM0073IGMP-SNOOP?

A3COM0073IGMP-SNOOP is a legacy 3Com proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 43) configuring stack-wide IGMP Snooping on 3Com switches. Its objects cover a global snooping-enable flag, robustness variable, leave-enable flag, query timeout/max-response-time, last-member query timeout/count, router-port refresh timeout, a per-VLAN table (join/leave counts), and global query-enable flag/IP address. As a configuration/performance MIB it lets an administrator confirm IGMP Snooping is active and watch per-VLAN multicast join/leave activity. It is deployed on legacy 3Com switches. Engineers can download the A3COM0073IGMP-SNOOP file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in A3COM0073IGMP-SNOOP. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Legacy 3Com switches (IGMP Snooping)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks igmpSnoopVLANJoins and igmpSnoopVLANLeaves to watch multicast group membership churn on a legacy 3Com switch VLAN.
