igmpSnoopLastMemberQueryTimeout

Module: A3COM0073IGMP-SNOOP

OID (symbolic): A3COM0073IGMP-SNOOP::igmpSnoopLastMemberQueryTimeout

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.10.37.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Description: A timeout interval in seconds. Maximum response time inserted into the IGMP group specific queries sent in response to an IGMP Leave by a querying switch. It is also the time between IGMP group specific queries being sent. It is set stack-wide. The default is 1 second and the range is 1 to 5 seconds. There could be 2 settings apart from the default. Slow Response (3 secs) and Very Slow Response (5 secs).

What is igmpSnoopLastMemberQueryTimeout?

This OID reports the timeout interval in seconds (1-5) that the switch uses when sending IGMP group-specific queries after detecting hosts leaving multicast groups. Network engineers adjust this value to balance responsiveness against network load: faster timeouts detect departures quicker but generate more queries. Setting it to 3 or 5 seconds creates slow-response scenarios useful when clients respond sluggishly.
