Description: Manages call detail record (CDR) generation for multicast data flows on H3C/3Com voice-enabled routers and gateways.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is A3COM-HUAWEI-MCDR-MIB?
A3COM-HUAWEI-MCDR-MIB is an H3C/3Com enterprise MIB for generating Call Detail Records (CDR) for multicast data flows, tracking which subscribers joined which multicast groups for billing, auditing, or usage-analysis purposes on voice/multicast-enabled routers and broadband gateways. It exposes configuration for CDR generation behavior (reporting interval, cache size limits, record delay) and a per-user online-information table recording each subscriber's session and joined multicast group address. Its monitoring focus is service/session-status oriented: administrators track how many multicast user sessions are active, their joined groups, and whether CDR records are being generated and sent on schedule, which is a software/service health view rather than hardware sensors. It appears self-contained without strong stated dependency on other standard MIBs beyond general multicast addressing conventions. It is deployed on H3C/3Com broadband access routers and multicast-service gateways delivering metered multicast content (e.g., IPTV) to subscribers. Engineers can download the A3COM-HUAWEI-MCDR-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in A3COM-HUAWEI-MCDR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C/3Com broadband routers and multicast-service gateways
Monitoring Examples
An admin would check h3cMultCDRStatus and h3cMultCDRReportInterval to confirm CDR generation is enabled and running on schedule, then inspect h3cMultCDRCacheLimit to ensure the record cache isn't near capacity (which could cause record loss). The h3cMultUserOnlineInfoTable, keyed by h3cMultUserRecordID, exposes live subscriber sessions via h3cMultUserSubIfIndex, h3cMultUserVlanID, and h3cMultUserJoinGAddr, letting an operator verify a specific subscriber is correctly registered against the expected multicast group. A stalled h3cMultCDRRecordSend counter alongside a growing cache would indicate the CDR export path to the billing/collection system is broken.
What Can Be Monitored
- CDR generation status
- CDR reporting interval
- CDR cache utilization
- active multicast user sessions
- subscriber joined multicast group address
- per-user VLAN and subinterface
