Description: H3C MIB for MPLS Traffic Engineering tunnel management with CSPF path computation and RSVP-TE signaling.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is H3C-TE-TUNNEL-MIB?

H3C-TE-TUNNEL-MIB manages MPLS Traffic Engineering (TE) tunnels on H3C routers, covering both statically configured CR-LSPs (Constraint-based Routed Label Switched Paths) and tunnel objects used with CSPF path computation and RSVP-TE signaling. It exposes a maximum tunnel index scalar, a static CR-LSP table describing in-labels, names, administrative status, and role (ingress/egress/transit) of statically configured label-switched paths, and a tunnel cross-connect (Co) table linking tunnel instances to their LSP instances. From a monitoring standpoint, the key use is verifying that a TE tunnel's static LSP remains in the expected administrative/operational status and that its cross-connect binding is intact, since a failed or torn-down TE tunnel directly impacts traffic-engineered paths carrying prioritized traffic. It is built on and depends heavily on the underlying MPLS label-switching architecture (relating to standard MPLS-TE-MIB concepts) and RSVP-TE signaling. It is deployed in H3C service-provider and enterprise WAN routers using MPLS TE for guaranteed-bandwidth or explicit-path traffic engineering. Engineers can download the H3C-TE-TUNNEL-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in H3C-TE-TUNNEL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C MPLS-capable routers

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll h3cTeTunnelStaticCrlspTable (h3cTeTunnelStaticCrlspEntry) to check h3cTeTunnelStaticCrlspStatus and h3cTeTunnelStaticCrlspRole for a named static LSP (h3cTeTunnelStaticCrlspName), confirming the h3cTeTunnelStaticCrlspInLabel matches the expected label binding for a critical traffic-engineered path. The h3cTeTunnelCoTable (h3cTeTunnelCoEntry), indexed by h3cTeTunnelCoIndex, would be checked for h3cTeTunnelCoLspInstance to verify the tunnel's cross-connect to its underlying LSP instance remains valid. h3cTeTunnelMaxTunnelIndex helps with capacity planning, and h3cTeTunnelNotifications would alert operators to a TE tunnel state change such as an LSP going down.

What Can Be Monitored

  • static CR-LSP administrative/operational status
  • LSP role (ingress/egress/transit)
  • tunnel-to-LSP cross-connect binding
  • TE tunnel index/capacity
  • TE tunnel state-change notifications

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using h3cTeTunnelStaticCrlspStatus OID:

Select an H3C MPLS-capable router (Traffic Engineering CR-LSP tunnels) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type h3cTeTunnelStaticCrlspStatus into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. Indicates the actual status of this static-crlsp, The value must be up when the static-crlsp status is up and the value must be down when the static-crlsp status is down. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an INTEGER-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value is anything other than 'up', since that indicates the condition this object reports has changed to one worth investigating. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
