Category: Device Management, Vendor: H3C/HH3C

Description: Manages the H3C/3Com intelligent network management framework, providing configuration and status for MINM-based device management functions.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is A3COM-HUAWEI-MINM-MIB?

A3COM-HUAWEI-MINM-MIB is an H3C proprietary MIB implementing IEEE 802.1ah MAC-in-MAC (Provider Backbone Bridging), which encapsulates customer Ethernet frames inside a backbone MAC header for carrier-scale Layer 2 transport. Its objects cover platform capabilities, the backbone MAC (BMAC) address, a VSI (Virtual Switch Instance) table (backbone VLAN, re-encapsulation flag, next available link ID), an uplink table, and a connection table recording link ID, remote BMAC/backbone VLAN, port, connection status, and aging status. As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm a MAC-in-MAC connection's remote BMAC and operational status. It is deployed on H3C (3Com/Huawei) carrier Ethernet switches using MAC-in-MAC (802.1ah). Engineers can download the A3COM-HUAWEI-MINM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in A3COM-HUAWEI-MINM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C (3Com/Huawei) carrier Ethernet switches (802.1ah MAC-in-MAC)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks h3cMinmConnectionStatus and h3cMinmConnectionAgingStatus to confirm a MAC-in-MAC backbone connection is up and not about to age out on an H3C carrier Ethernet switch.

What Can Be Monitored

  • MAC-in-MAC connection status and aging
