Category: Device Management, Textual Conventions and Registries, Vendor: Huawei

Description: Huawei data communication OID registration MIB defining the enterprise OID subtree and product registration hierarchy for Huawei datacom products.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-DATACOMM-OID-MIB?

HUAWEI-DATACOMM-OID-MIB is a Huawei registration MIB that defines the top-level enterprise OID subtree used to organize Huawei's datacom product MIBs, rather than a data-bearing management MIB. It exposes no monitorable device data itself; its content consists purely of OID tree nodes such as huawei, hwLocal, products, oem, huaweiExperimental, and huaweiMgmt that other Huawei MIB modules attach beneath. Because it carries no runtime objects, it has no bearing on hardware or software status monitoring directly, but it is foundational: essentially every other Huawei datacom MIB imports from or is rooted under this module's namespace. Its only "dependency" relationship is structural — it is the naming scaffold the rest of the Huawei MIB tree depends on. It is relevant wherever Huawei network equipment is managed via SNMP, since MIB compilers and management tools use it to resolve the vendor OID hierarchy defined by the HUAWEI-DATACOMM-OID-MIB OID tree.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-DATACOMM-OID-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • vendor OID registration module — applies broadly to Huawei network equipment, not a specific device type

Monitoring Examples

This is a pure OID-registration module, not a data or trap MIB: its sample nodes (huawei, hwLocal, products, oem, huaweiExperimental, huaweiMgmt) are naming-tree placeholders with no runtime-monitorable values, so there is no realistic polling scenario to describe here.
