What Is CISCO-CEF-TC?
CISCO-CEF-TC is a Cisco enterprise MIB that defines shared textual conventions used across the Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF) MIB family rather than modeling any object instances itself. It provides types such as CefIpVersion (IPv4/IPv6), CefAdjLinkType (the protocol stack an adjacency feeds into, including MPLS and bridging), CefAdjacencySource (a bitmask of learning mechanisms like ARP, ATM PVC/SVC, frame-relay map, MPOA, and IPv6 neighbor discovery), CefPathType (receive, connected-prefix, attached-prefix, and related CEF path classifications), CefAdminStatus/CefOperStatus, CefFailureReason, and consistency-checker types (CefCCType, CefCCAction, CefCCStatus). Because it is purely a type-definition MIB, it has no monitorable objects of its own, but it underpins how CEF adjacency, path, and consistency-checker data are represented across dependent MIBs like CISCO-CEF-MIB, making it essential for correctly decoding forwarding-table and adjacency data on Cisco routers. It is deployed wherever Cisco Express Forwarding is enabled, which is the default forwarding mechanism on most modern IOS/IOS-XE platforms. This CISCO-CEF-TC reference is useful for correctly interpreting enum and bitmask values returned by the CEF MIBs that import it.
