What Is ZXR10-VRF-ROUTERS-MIB?

ZXR10-VRF-ROUTERS-MIB is a ZTE proprietary module for ZXR10 (ZXROSNG) routers that reports per-VRF routing protocol instance statistics, giving visibility into routing processes running within each virtual routing/forwarding tenant context. It exposes a route-statistics table indexed by VRF, breaking down the total route count by source: connected, static, RIP, OSPF, ISIS, and BGP. This is a performance/status-counter MIB useful for monitoring the software health of the routing stack per tenant, letting an administrator confirm that expected protocols are contributing routes to a VRF's table and detect a protocol that has stopped populating routes, such as an OSPF adjacency loss reflected as a drop in OSPF route count. It depends on ZXR10-VRF-MIB for VRF identification and on the underlying routing protocol MIBs it summarizes. It is deployed in ZTE ZXR10 carrier/enterprise routers offering multi-tenant, VRF-based routing services. Engineers can download the ZXR10-VRF-ROUTERS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-VRF-ROUTERS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ZTE ZXR10 routers (ZXROSNG platform)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll zxr10VrfRouteStatisticsTable/zxr10VrfRouteStatisticsEntry, keyed by zxr10VrfIndex, to read zxr10VrfTotalRoutes alongside the per-protocol breakdown zxr10VrfConnectedRoutes, zxr10VrfStaticRoutes, zxr10VrfRIPRoutes, zxr10VrfOSPFRoutes, zxr10VrfISISRoutes, and zxr10VrfBGPRoutes. A sudden drop in zxr10VrfBGPRoutes for a given VRF, with zxr10VrfTotalRoutes falling correspondingly, would indicate a BGP session failure affecting that tenant's routing table.

What Can Be Monitored

  • total routes per VRF
  • connected route count
  • static route count
  • RIP/OSPF/ISIS/BGP route counts per VRF
