Description: Defines ZTE ZXR10 MPLS OAM tools for LSP fault detection, performance monitoring, and protection switching.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ZXR10-MPLS-OAM-MIB?

This MIB is part of ZTE's ZXR10/Rosng T8000 platform and defines objects for MPLS Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM), the toolset used to detect faults and measure performance on Label Switched Paths (LSPs). It exposes configuration for OAM test sessions along with operational results covering LSP connectivity, continuity checks, and performance metrics like delay or loss, plus protection-switching state. Its primary monitoring value is software/protocol status rather than physical hardware: it tracks whether LSPs are up or down, whether OAM probes are succeeding, and whether protection switchover has been triggered, which are key indicators of MPLS service health. It builds on the MPLS forwarding and LSP signaling infrastructure of the device, so its data is meaningful only in conjunction with the underlying MPLS-TE/LDP MIBs. It is typically deployed in carrier and large enterprise MPLS backbone routers where continuous LSP health verification is required for SLA assurance, and a ZXR10-MPLS-OAM-MIB download from ZTE is generally the first step to load it into a MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-MPLS-OAM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ZTE ZXR10/Rosng T8000 MPLS router

Monitoring Examples

An operator would configure an MPLS OAM session referencing a specific LSP and then poll the resulting status objects to check continuity-check (CC) and connectivity-verification (CV) results. A sudden transition from an 'up' OAM state to a fault or defect state indicates the LSP has broken or is experiencing packet loss, which should trigger investigation of the underlying path or a protection switchover. Performance counters within the same session can also reveal creeping latency or loss trends on an otherwise 'up' LSP before it fully fails.

What Can Be Monitored

  • LSP connectivity/continuity status
  • OAM fault/defect detection
  • LSP performance (delay/loss)
  • protection switching state
