What Is ZXR10-MAC-MIB?
ZXR10-MAC-MIB is a ZTE enterprise MIB for the ZXR10 switch/router platform running the ZXROS/ZXROSNG operating system, providing management of the device's Layer 2 MAC address table. It exposes global MAC address table configuration (such as aging behavior) and per-interface MAC configuration, governing how learned and static MAC address entries are managed on the switch. Its monitoring role is primarily software/forwarding-table status: confirming MAC aging-timer configuration and per-interface MAC learning settings, which helps diagnose issues like MAC table flapping, excessive relearning, or static MAC entries not taking effect as configured. It builds on the standard bridge/forwarding concepts found in IETF BRIDGE-MIB conventions, though implemented as a ZTE-proprietary tree rather than a direct extension of that MIB. It is deployed on ZTE ZXR10 switches and routers in enterprise or carrier access/aggregation networks wherever Layer 2 MAC address table behavior needs to be monitored or tuned. Engineers can download the ZXR10-MAC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-MAC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ZTE ZXR10 switch/router
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would check macGlobalConfig to confirm the switch-wide MAC address aging timer setting, and macInterfaceConfig to verify per-interface MAC learning or static-entry behavior on a specific port. If end-station connectivity issues correlate with frequent MAC relearning, comparing the configured aging timer in macGlobalConfig against observed relearn frequency can reveal whether the timer is set too aggressively for the network's traffic pattern.
What Can Be Monitored
- MAC address aging timer
- per-interface MAC address configuration
