What Is ZXR10-L2VPN-OBJECT-MIB?
ZXR10-L2VPN-OBJECT-MIB is a ZTE proprietary SNMP module for the ZXR10 platform that defines object-level detail for MPLS Layer 2 VPN services, covering pseudowire endpoints, attachment circuits, and service instances. It exposes both configuration data (object type, name) and operational counters related to MAC address learning limits within each L2VPN service instance. This MIB is used to monitor the software/service status of L2VPN instances on the device, particularly MAC-learning behavior — how many static and learned MAC addresses exist versus configured maximums, and what action is taken when a learning-limit is exceeded — which helps detect MAC-table exhaustion or flooding issues within a given service. It builds directly on the IETF MPLS Layer 2 VPN framework referenced in its description and likely complements other ZXR10 MPLS/pseudowire MIBs. It is deployed on ZTE ZXR10 routers used as PE devices delivering Ethernet-based L2VPN/pseudowire services in carrier networks. Engineers can download the ZXR10-L2VPN-OBJECT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-L2VPN-OBJECT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ZTE ZXR10 router (MPLS PE device)
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls the zxr10L2vpnObjectTable/zxr10L2vpnObjectEntry, keyed by zxr10L2vpnObjectType and zxr10L2vpnObjectName, to read zxr10L2vpnObjectCounterMacsMaximum, zxr10L2vpnObjectCounterStaticMacs, and zxr10L2vpnObjectLimitCounterLearnedMacsMaximum. If zxr10L2vpnObjectCounterStaticMacs approaches zxr10L2vpnObjectLimitCounterStaticMacsMaximum, or zxr10L2vpnObjectLimitCounterLearnedMacsAction shows a drop/shutdown action triggered, it indicates the L2VPN instance is experiencing MAC-table pressure or a MAC-flooding event on the attachment circuit.
What Can Be Monitored
- L2VPN service instance state
- static MAC address count
- learned MAC address count
- MAC learning limit and action
- MAC learning rate limit
