Category: ZTE Access Node (ZTE-AN) Management

Description: Manages ZTE access node MDI (Medium Dependent Interface) configuration for copper interface tuning.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ZTE-AN-MDI-MIB?

ZTE-AN-MDI-MIB manages Medium Dependent Interface (MDI) configuration on ZTE access node copper Ethernet ports, controlling settings such as MDI/MDI-X crossover mode used to correctly pair transmit/receive pairs on twisted-pair copper links. It exposes interface-level configuration data for copper port wiring mode rather than broad performance counters. From a monitoring perspective it helps confirm that a copper port's MDI mode is set correctly (e.g. auto, MDI, or MDI-X), which is a common root cause of a copper link that won't establish or negotiates at reduced speed/duplex. It is a narrowly-scoped, vendor-specific configuration MIB with no apparent dependency on external standard MIBs beyond general Ethernet PHY conventions. It is deployed on ZTE access nodes with copper (RJ-45) Ethernet uplink or subscriber-facing ports needing MDI crossover tuning, where ZTE-AN-MDI-MIB SNMP monitoring helps pinpoint a link failing to establish due to a crossover mismatch.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZTE-AN-MDI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ZTE access node equipment (copper Ethernet ports)

Monitoring Examples

No object names were supplied for this MIB; based on module_desc, a realistic scenario is an admin polling the MDI mode setting for a copper port after a link fails to come up, discovering it's fixed to the wrong crossover mode (MDI instead of MDI-X or vice versa) for the connected cable/device, and correcting it via this MIB.

What Can Be Monitored

  • MDI/MDI-X crossover mode configuration
  • copper port wiring mode status
