What Is XEROX-GENERAL-TC?
XEROX-GENERAL-TC is a Xerox Corporation MIB module defining shared textual conventions (custom data types) used across the Xerox Common MIB Interface (XCMI) family of print-device management MIBs. It does not expose device state itself; instead it standardizes low-level types such as 16-bit and split 32/64-bit cardinal, counter, and gauge representations, plus coded country/language and indexed-string conventions, that other XCMI modules reuse for consistency. Because it carries no scalar or table objects of its own, it plays no direct role in reporting uptime, temperature, CPU/memory, or fault status - that monitoring data lives in the XCMI MIBs (print engine, paper tray, consumables, etc.) that import these type definitions. It has a direct dependency relationship with the rest of the XCMI suite, since every module that imports it relies on these conventions to interpret 64-bit counters and gauges correctly on SNMP implementations without native 64-bit support. It is deployed only as a supporting/imported module wherever Xerox XCMI-based printers and multifunction devices are managed. Anyone compiling a dependent XCMI module needs to load the XEROX-GENERAL-TC OID tree first, since the split 64-bit counter and gauge conventions it defines must resolve before the objects that import them can be parsed.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in XEROX-GENERAL-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Xerox printers and multifunction devices (XCMI-compliant)
Monitoring Examples
Objects like xCmGenCounter64High/xCmGenCounter64Low and xCmGenGauge64High/xCmGenGauge64Low are split high/low-word textual conventions that other XCMI print MIBs use to represent 64-bit page counters and toner-level gauges on agents lacking native Counter64 support; xCmGenCardinal16/32 serve as generic bounded-integer types. This module defines no runtime instances of its own, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe directly - it is purely a type-definition dependency for other Xerox print-management MIBs.

| zeroDotZero | 0.0 | |||
| xcmGenZeroDotZero | 0.0.0 | A value used for null object identifiers prior to XCMI v5.1. Do not use. Instead use the standard definition in RFC 1902/2578 - 'zeroDotZero' - left here for compatibility. | ||
