What Is XEDIA-VLAN-MIB?

XEDIA-VLAN-MIB is a Xedia Corporation enterprise MIB for managing IEEE 802.1p/802.1q VLAN tagging and membership on Xedia's WAN/LAN access routers. It exposes configuration data covering VLAN identifiers, per-port VLAN assignment, tagged-frame admission policy, GVRP dynamic registration, and GARP timer settings. Rather than hardware sensors, this MIB is primarily used to monitor the software configuration state of the switching/bridging subsystem, letting administrators confirm which VLANs are provisioned, whether ports are correctly admitting or stripping tagged frames, and whether GVRP is actively synchronizing VLAN membership. It builds on the IEEE 802.1Q tagging standard and is typically layered over Xedia's bridging and interface MIBs. It is deployed in Xedia router-based LAN segments where VLAN segmentation and tag handling must be verified for correct trunk and access-port behavior. Monitoring Examples

An operator would query the xVlanIDTable (xVlanIDEntry, indexed by xVlanID) to enumerate provisioned VLANs, then cross-reference the xVlanConfigTable to check xVlanConfigAdmitTaggedFrames and xVlanConfigAdmitConfiguredVlansOnly on a given port. If a trunk port shows xVlanConfigAdmitConfiguredVlansOnly disabled when it should be enabled, untagged or rogue-VLAN traffic could be leaking through. Checking xVlanConfigGVRP and xVlanConfigGARPJoinTime reveals whether dynamic VLAN registration is active and how quickly membership changes propagate.
