What Is XEDIA-ISDN-MIB?
The XEDIA-ISDN-MIB is a Xedia Corporation proprietary MIB extending standard ISDN management (beyond RFC 2127) for BRI/PRI ISDN interfaces on Xedia multiservice access routers. It exposes ISDN line/channel configuration and signaling tables, SPID configuration for endpoints, and dial-control peer configuration for nailed-up or on-demand ISDN connections. Its monitoring emphasis is on hardware and service status together: it lets an operator check B-channel loopback/line state, verify SPID provisioning against the carrier's assignment, and track dial-peer call-control state to see whether calls are being placed, answered, and torn down correctly. It is layered on top of, and depends on, the base IETF ISDN MIB defined in RFC 2127 for foundational ISDN interface objects. It was deployed on Xedia access routers providing dial-backup or primary ISDN WAN connectivity for enterprise branch offices. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the XEDIA-ISDN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in XEDIA-ISDN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Xedia multiservice access router with ISDN BRI/PRI interfaces
Monitoring Examples
A support engineer checks xisdnTable/xisdnEntry for the loopback state (xisdnLoopbackState) on a BRI interface to rule out a line-test condition, then reviews xisdnSignalingTable entries alongside isdnEndpointSpid/isdnEndpointSpid2 to confirm the SPIDs match those assigned by the carrier. They also inspect xdialCtlPeerCfgTable entries under xcallControl to see whether a dial-backup peer configured as xnailedUp is staying connected or repeatedly redialing, which would indicate a signaling or SPID mismatch.
What Can Be Monitored
- ISDN line loopback state
- SPID configuration
- dial-peer call control status
- nailed-up connection state
