Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is XEDIA-POLICY-MIB?
XEDIA-POLICY-MIB is a Xedia Corp. (built on XEDIA-REG) proprietary MIB managing routing policies (route-map-style filters for BGP/OSPF/RIP/static routes). Its objects cover configured/valid/invalid receive-policy counts (total and in-use, broken down by BGP/OSPF/RIP/static), matching transmit-policy counts, and a receive-policy table (protocol, peer, name, address range, AS string, community ID, receive option). As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm which routing-protocol policies are configured and actively in use on a Xedia router. It is deployed on Xedia Corp. routing equipment (routing policies). Engineers can download the XEDIA-POLICY-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in XEDIA-POLICY-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Xedia Corp. routing equipment (routing policies)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks xpolicyNumRxInUseBGP and xpolicyReceiveTable to confirm which BGP receive-policies are actively applied on a Xedia router.
What Can Be Monitored
- routing-policy configuration and in-use status per protocol

If it is used (>0), then the 'xpolicyTxSendOption' can NOT be set to 'never'. |
| INT xpolicyPriTxMEDAuto | 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.10.2.4.2.1.12 | INTEGER | read-create | Admininstative status for calculating the 'Multi-Exit-Descriminator' using IGP_metric + 1. |
| I32 xpolicyPriTxAsPrepend | 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.10.2.4.2.1.13 | Integer32 | read-create | The number of times to prepend the router's AS to the transmitted AS path in updates to the peer for all matching routes. note: It is only used for BGP. If it is used (>0), then the 'xpolicyTxSendOption' can NOT be set to 'never'. |
| INT xpolicyPriTxSendCommunityId | 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.10.2.4.2.1.14 | INTEGER | read-create | The value that is added to the community attribute for all matched routes. note: It is only used for BGP. If it is used (>0), then the 'xpolicyTxSendOption' can NOT be set to 'never'. |
| I32 xpolicyPriTxIgpMetric | 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.10.2.4.2.1.15 | Integer32 | read-create | The metric used for IGP. |
| INT xpolicyPriTxIgpMetricType | 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.10.2.4.2.1.16 | INTEGER | read-create | Type of metric being used. Currently, only for defining OSPF internal and external routes. |
| INT xpolicyPriTxIgpMetricAuto | 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.10.2.4.2.1.17 | INTEGER | read-create | Administrative status for generating an 'auto' metric. If set to localPref, the igp's metric is igpMetric - localPref. If set to MED, the the igp's metric is igpMetric + MED. If set to igp, then the entry controls routes imported from one IGP to another. |
| T/F xpolicyPriTxNextHopSelf | 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.10.2.4.2.1.18 | TruthValue | read-create | Setting this object to the value 'true(1)' will set the BGP NEXT_HOP attribute to the local router address instead of leaving it as it was received from an EBGP peer. |
| ROW xpolicyPriTxRowStatus | 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.10.2.4.2.1.19 | RowStatus | read-create | This object is used to add and remove entries from the table. |

RFC description
Xedia routing policy management MIB for defining and managing receive and transmit policies on routers.
Start monitoring Xedia Corp. routing equipment, routing policies (per-protocol receive/transmit policy-count status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
