Description: Manages World Wide Packets QoS policy for 410-series Metro Ethernet switches including queue scheduling.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is WWP-QOS-410-MIB?

WWP-QOS-410-MIB is a World Wide Packets vendor MIB defining QoS management objects for the 410-series Metro Ethernet switch platform. It models per-VLAN, per-ingress/egress-port QoS policy in wwpQos410Table (wwpQos410MinRateLimit/MaxRateLimit bandwidth guarantees and caps in 64Kb/s units, wwpQos410QueueSize, and a weighted-scheduling wwpQos410Weight value), tracks accepted/discarded byte counts in wwpQos410StatsTable (wwpQos410RxBytesHi/Lo), maps RX priority to TX queue in wwpQos410PriToQMapTable, and reports per-port provisioned versus total bandwidth in wwpQos410PortTable, alongside wwpQos410PortOverProvisionedTrap/UnderProvisionedTrap notifications. This exposes both the configured bandwidth-guarantee/rate-limit policy and the queue-level statistics needed to verify QoS is behaving as designed on Metro Ethernet links. It depends on the underlying VLAN and interface/port indexing from companion World Wide Packets MIBs, and is deployed on WWP 410-series switches in carrier Ethernet access networks -- administrators can download the WWP-QOS-410-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WWP-QOS-410-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • World Wide Packets 410-series Metro Ethernet switches

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls wwpQos410PortProvisionedBW against wwpQos410PortTotalBW in wwpQos410PortTable to check for over-subscription, and watches for a wwpQos410PortOverProvisionedTrap notification; a trap firing alongside rising discarded-byte counts in wwpQos410StatsTable (wwpQos410StatsType = discarded) would indicate a port whose committed QoS bandwidth exceeds its physical capacity.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-VLAN/port QoS rate limits and guarantees
  • queue size and scheduling weight configuration
  • accepted vs discarded byte counters
  • RX-priority to TX-queue mapping
  • port provisioned vs total bandwidth
  • over/under-provisioning trap notifications
