What Is WHISP-TCV2-MIB?

WHISP-TCV2-MIB is a Motorola module defining textual conventions (TCs) — shared data types and enumerations — used across the Canopy v2 wireless broadband product line's MIB modules. It is a pure definitional module rather than a data-carrying one: it standardizes how other WHISP/Canopy MIBs express things like signal quality units, device roles, or status codes. Because it defines only types, it exposes no runtime monitoring objects of its own for hardware/software status such as uptime, temperature, or traffic; that data lives in the companion Canopy MIBs that import these conventions. It is a dependency for other Canopy v2 MIB modules, which reference its type definitions rather than duplicating them. It is used wherever Motorola/Cambium Canopy fixed-wireless broadband equipment is deployed and managed via SNMP, and a WHISP-TCV2-MIB download typically accompanies the other Canopy v2 MIB files rather than being loaded standalone, since its type definitions only become meaningful once imported by those data-carrying modules.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WHISP-TCV2-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Canopy v2 wireless broadband product line, entire range (shared textual conventions, no data objects)

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only shared textual conventions (types) for other Canopy v2 MIBs to import — it has no runtime data objects of its own, so there is no direct monitoring scenario to describe; actual monitoring happens through the Canopy MIBs that use these type definitions.
