Category: Juniper/Unisphere Broadband

Description: Provides OID registry and enterprise object identifier assignments for Unisphere Networks equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Unisphere-Data-Registry?

Unisphere-Data-Registry is an administrative enterprise MIB module for Unisphere Networks (later part of Juniper's ERX/E-series line) that defines and assigns object identifier (OID) sub-branches for the company's data communications products, rather than exposing operational management data itself. Its content is purely a registry/naming structure, allocating OID roots such as the ERX and MRX product registries, physical entity type identifiers, and traceroute implementation type identifiers used by other Unisphere MIBs. It has no runtime monitoring role of its own; it exists so that other functional MIBs (interfaces, chassis, DNS, IP profiles, etc.) can reference standardized, non-colliding OID assignments for entity types and implementation variants across the product line. As a pure registry it is foundational to and depended upon by the broader family of Unisphere/ERX enterprise MIBs rather than depending on them. It would be present wherever Unisphere/Juniper ERX or MRX equipment is managed via SNMP, as a supporting definitional module rather than a directly polled one. Engineers can download the Unisphere-Data-Registry file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Unisphere-Data-Registry. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Unisphere/Juniper ERX and MRX broadband routers

Monitoring Examples

This module is a registry/definitional MIB with no pollable runtime data objects; it defines OID assignments like usdErxRegistry and usdMrxRegistry, and enumerated type identifiers such as usDataEntPhysicalType and usdTraceRouteImplementationTypes, which other Unisphere MIBs reference by value rather than something an administrator would monitor directly for status or faults.

RFC description

Juniper Networks registry MIB containing OID assignments and references for Unisphere (legacy Juniper) data products. Part of Juniper's inherited SNMP framework from the Unisphere Networks acquisition in 2002.

Start monitoring Unisphere/Juniper ERX and MRX broadband routers (OID sub-branch registry, no data objects) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
