Description: Defines Juniper/Unisphere ERX router product OID registration and enterprise identifier hierarchy.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Unisphere-Data-ERX-Registry?

Unisphere-Data-ERX-Registry is a product-identification MIB for the Unisphere (later Juniper) ERX Edge Routing Switch family, defining the OID hierarchy and textual conventions used to identify specific ERX hardware modules and physical entity types. Rather than exposing live counters, it provides the AutonomousType values assigned to entPhysicalVendorType so that hardware inventory tools can recognize which specific ERX line card, chassis, or module type is installed. Its monitoring value is hardware-identity oriented: it enables accurate reporting of installed module/hardware types in entity-MIB-based inventory and fault correlation, rather than reporting performance or environmental data itself. It is explicitly designed to be used together with the standard IETF Entity MIB (entPhysicalTable/entPhysicalVendorType), supplying the vendor-specific type values that MIB references. It is used across the Unisphere/Juniper ERX product line whenever new hardware modules are introduced, requiring registry updates. Engineers can download the Unisphere-Data-ERX-Registry file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Unisphere-Data-ERX-Registry. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Juniper/Unisphere ERX edge routing switch chassis and line cards

Monitoring Examples

A management application reading the standard entPhysicalTable's entPhysicalVendorType column would cross-reference the returned OID against usdErxEntPhysicalType definitions in this registry to determine exactly which ERX line card or chassis module is installed in a given slot. There are no dynamic counters here -- this is a static type-registration module used for hardware identification rather than direct monitoring.

What Can Be Monitored
