Category: Juniper Unisphere ERX Conformance
Description: Defines Unisphere ERX L2TP MIB agent conformance groups and compliance statement specifications.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Unisphere-Data-L2TP-CONF?
This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module for the L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol) subsystem of the SNMP agent running on Unisphere Networks' ERX Routing Switch family (later sold as Juniper ERX edge routers). Rather than defining monitorable data itself, it declares which object groups and compliance statements from the underlying L2TP data MIB a specific agent software release actually implements. As such it exposes no interface, environmental, performance-counter, or fault data on its own — it is purely a feature/version-support declaration used by management systems for capability negotiation. It is entirely dependent on the companion L2TP data MIB that defines the real tunnel/session objects, and indirectly on the IETF L2TP protocol model (RFC 2661). It is used in carrier or enterprise edge networks running ERX broadband access routers, where NMS tooling consults this capabilities statement before deciding how to poll or configure L2TP tunnels on a given software version. Engineers can download the Unisphere-Data-L2TP-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Unisphere-Data-L2TP-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
This module is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES statement with no data-bearing objects of its own (sample_objects is empty), so there is no runtime monitoring scenario to describe — it only records which groups of the companion L2TP MIB a given ERX agent release supports.
