Category: Juniper Unisphere ERX Conformance

Description: Defines Unisphere ERX interfaces MIB agent conformance groups and compliance statement objects.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Unisphere-Data-Interfaces-CONF?

Unisphere-Data-Interfaces-CONF is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES/conformance MIB module for the Interfaces component of the SNMP agent on Unisphere Networks' ERX family of routing switches (Unisphere was later acquired by Juniper/Ericsson). Rather than defining runtime data objects, it declares which groups of the standard Interfaces MIB (and related Unisphere interface objects) the ERX agent implements and to what extent, serving as a machine-readable statement of SNMP agent capability. As a pure conformance module it does not itself expose hardware or software status data, no uptime, temperature, or counters, but instead documents which monitoring capabilities are supported by the device's agent so that management systems can determine feature support. It is inherently dependent on the corresponding Unisphere Interfaces MIB (and the standard IETF IF-MIB conventions) that it declares conformance to. It is typically referenced internally by NMS tooling during agent capability negotiation rather than polled directly by operators. Engineers can download the Unisphere-Data-Interfaces-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Unisphere-Data-Interfaces-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Unisphere Networks ERX routing switch

Monitoring Examples

This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES/conformance module with no runtime data objects; it lists the OBJECT-GROUPs and compliance statements the Unisphere ERX interfaces agent supports rather than exposing pollable status or performance data, so there is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe.
