Description: Manages Unisphere ERX router automatic interface configuration templates and provisioning policies.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Unisphere-Data-AUTOCONFIGURE-MIB?

Unisphere-Data-AUTOCONFIGURE-MIB is a Unisphere Networks (later Juniper ERX) enterprise MIB that manages automatic interface configuration templates and provisioning policies on ERX edge routers. It exposes a per-interface auto-configuration table specifying encapsulation type and whether auto-configuration is enabled for that interface, effectively controlling how new circuits are provisioned automatically. This MIB is primarily a configuration/provisioning status MIB rather than a hardware sensor MIB: it lets an operator verify whether auto-configuration is active on a given interface index and what encapsulation policy will be applied, which is critical for subscriber-facing edge routers that dynamically provision new access circuits. It depends on the standard IF-MIB ifIndex for correlating entries to physical/logical interfaces. It is typically deployed on Juniper/Unisphere ERX edge routers in broadband aggregation networks where large numbers of subscriber interfaces need policy-driven auto-provisioning, and a Unisphere-Data-AUTOCONFIGURE-MIB download is typically the first step to load the module into network management tooling.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Unisphere-Data-AUTOCONFIGURE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Juniper/Unisphere ERX edge router

Monitoring Examples

An admin would walk usdAutoConfTable/usdAutoConfEntry keyed by usdAutoConfIfIndex to check usdAutoConfEnable and usdAutoConfEncaps for a given interface, confirming that a newly provisioned subscriber port picked up the correct auto-configuration policy and encapsulation. If new circuits are failing to come up automatically, checking whether usdAutoConfEnable is set to disabled on the relevant interface would be an early troubleshooting step.

What Can Be Monitored

  • auto-configuration enable status per interface
  • encapsulation type per interface
