OID (symbolic): Unisphere-Data-AUTOCONFIGURE-MIB::usdAutoConfEnable

Description: When enabled, permits autoconfiguration of the specified interface when the specified encapsulation is recognized in an incoming data frame.

What is usdAutoConfEnable?

This value enables or disables automatic configuration of a specified interface whenever the device recognizes a matching encapsulation type in an incoming data frame, letting the interface configure itself on the fly rather than requiring manual setup. Administrators turn this on for interfaces where the encapsulation type used by connected equipment may vary and they want the router to adapt automatically. For example, enabling this on a WAN interface might let the router automatically apply the correct encapsulation settings the moment it detects Frame Relay frames arriving instead of PPP.
