Description: Provides Ubiquoss miscellaneous management objects for device-specific operational parameters.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is UBQS-MISC-MIB?
UBQS-MISC-MIB is a vendor-specific catch-all SNMP module from Ubiquoss for miscellaneous system-level operational parameters on their switch platforms that don't belong to a more specific functional MIB. It exposes a grab-bag of device operational controls and settings, such as remote reset capability, MAC spoofing protection, and history/logging storage behavior. For monitoring and management purposes it is mainly useful for confirming device configuration state and triggering or auditing operational actions like remote reboot, rather than reporting rich hardware sensor data. It has no strong apparent dependency on other standard MIBs beyond the vendor's own UBQS enterprise MIB tree. It is typically deployed alongside the vendor's other UBQS-* MIBs for full management coverage of Ubiquoss switches in service provider access networks. Engineers can download the UBQS-MISC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBQS-MISC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ubiquoss managed Ethernet switch
Monitoring Examples
An operator can use ubiMiscRemoteReset to trigger a remote reboot of the switch from an NMS without physical access, useful for out-of-band recovery when a device becomes unresponsive. ubiMacSpoofing exposes whether MAC address spoofing protection is enabled, letting security audits confirm the setting matches policy across the fleet. ubiMiscStoreHistory indicates whether operational history/logs are being retained locally, which an admin would check before relying on the device for post-incident forensic logs.
What Can Be Monitored
- remote reset/reboot capability
- MAC spoofing protection status
- operational history storage setting

RFC description
Ubiquoss MIB module for miscellaneous management objects on Ubiquoss network devices, part of the Ubiquoss enterprise MIB collection used for general SNMP-based network monitoring and management.
Start monitoring Ubiquoss managed Ethernet switch (remote-reset/MAC-spoofing-protection/logging config status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
