Description: Performance monitoring counters and counter-reset controls for Ubiquoss EPON OLT ports, indexed by physical port

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is UBIQUOSS-EPON-PM-GROUP-MIB?

This module belongs to Ubiquoss, a manufacturer of PON/Ethernet access equipment, and defines performance-monitoring (PM) objects for EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) OLT (Optical Line Terminal) ports. It exposes per-port performance counters — such as traffic, error, or optical-signal-related statistics — indexed by physical port, along with controls to reset those counters. Its monitoring purpose is centered on interface/link performance: operators poll these per-port PM counters to track EPON port traffic levels and error rates over time, helping identify a degrading optical link or an ONU/ONT connectivity problem on a specific OLT port before it causes a service outage, and use the reset controls to clear counters after maintenance or at the start of a new measurement interval. It is specific to the Ubiquoss EPON platform and complements other Ubiquoss MIBs (such as UBIQUOSS-MAC-MIB) that share the same physical-port indexing scheme, and it builds on general PON/EPON (IEEE 802.3ah) concepts for its counter semantics. It is deployed in FTTH/PON access networks where Ubiquoss OLT chassis aggregate traffic from multiple ONUs over EPON, and operators typically start with a UBIQUOSS-EPON-PM-GROUP-MIB download to load the module into their monitoring system.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBIQUOSS-EPON-PM-GROUP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ubiquoss EPON OLT (Optical Line Terminal)

Monitoring Examples

No sample object names were supplied for this module; based on its documented scope, an operator would poll the per-port PM counter table (indexed by physical OLT port) to track traffic and error counts on each EPON port, using the counter-reset controls to baseline measurements, and would flag a port whose error counters climb abnormally fast as an indicator of a degrading fiber link or a misbehaving ONU.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-port traffic counters
  • per-port error counters
  • counter reset control state
