What Is CRMSVC-MIB?
CRMSVC-MIB is NTT's MIB for the BA3000 ATM switch's SVC (Switched Virtual Circuit) service, used to configure and monitor ATM connection-oriented signaling, node/interface addressing, and VCI/VPI-based switched circuits. It exposes the switch's own node address, a table of administrative interface addresses (crmIfAdminAddrTable) with address source and priority, and a collection table used to gather/export SVC-related data to files. Its monitoring role centers on the operational and addressing status of ATM signaling - confirming a node's registered address, interface address priority/source, and the state of SVC data collection - which reveals signaling misconfiguration or address conflicts on the switch. As an ATM-specific MIB it depends on standard ATM Forum/ITU-T addressing and signaling concepts (NSAP-style addresses, VCI/VPI) underlying its object model. It is typically deployed in telecom carrier ATM networks where NTT BA3000 switches provide SVC-based connectivity, monitored by the carrier's NOC for signaling and address-table health. Engineers can download the CRMSVC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CRMSVC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- NTT BA3000 ATM switch
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll crmSvcNodeAddress to confirm the switch's registered ATM node address is correct, and walk crmIfAdminAddrTable/crmIfAdminAddrEntry fields like crmIfAdminAddrAddress, crmIfAdminAddrAddressSource, and crmIfAdminAddrPriority to verify interface addressing and priority ordering used for SVC signaling. Checking crmSvcCollectionTable/crmSvcCollectionEntry (crmSvcCollectionType, crmSvcCollectionFileName) would show whether SVC data collection to a file is active, useful for diagnosing signaling issues after the fact.
What Can Be Monitored
- switch node address
- interface address configuration/priority
- SVC data collection status
