Description: Defines Trapeze Networks RF detection SNMP textual conventions for rogue AP classification data types.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-RF-DETECT-TC?

TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-RF-DETECT-TC is a private vendor MIB from Trapeze Networks (a wireless LAN vendor) that defines SNMP textual conventions (TCs) -- shared, reusable data type definitions -- for classifying RF detection data, such as rogue access point classification categories, used by other Trapeze wireless switch MIBs. As a textual-conventions module it exposes no runtime managed objects itself; instead it defines the vocabulary (enumerated types, string formats) that RF/rogue-AP detection tables in companion Trapeze MIBs use to report their data. It therefore has no direct monitoring role for hardware or software status; its purpose is purely to standardize data typing across the vendor's wireless intrusion detection feature set. It is a dependency module consumed by other Trapeze Networks wireless switch MIBs that implement actual RF scanning and rogue AP detection tables. It is deployed as a supporting module wherever Trapeze Networks (later Juniper/Mist-branded) wireless LAN switches and access points are managed via SNMP. Engineers can download the TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-RF-DETECT-TC file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-RF-DETECT-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Trapeze Networks wireless LAN switch and access point

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only textual conventions (data types) with no runtime data objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe directly -- an admin would instead poll the companion Trapeze RF-detection or rogue-AP MIB tables that use the types defined here to classify detected wireless devices.
