All MIBs › TPLINK-PRODUCTS-MIB
Category: Enterprise SMI and Textual Conventions
Description: Defines TP-Link switch product OID registrations for device type identification.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TPLINK-PRODUCTS-MIB?
TPLINK-PRODUCTS-MIB is a TP-Link enterprise MIB whose sole purpose is to register the OID (object identifier) sub-tree assigned to each TP-Link switch model/product line, functioning as an identity/registration module rather than a data-bearing one. It does not expose runtime configuration, statistics, or fault data; instead, it defines the sysObjectID values a management station uses to recognize exactly which TP-Link product family it is talking to. Because it carries no runtime objects, it does not itself support hardware or software status monitoring — its role is purely to enable device-type identification so that other, data-bearing TP-Link MIBs can be matched to the correct product. It is a companion/reference module to the rest of the TP-Link enterprise MIB tree and to SNMPv2-SMI's standard sysObjectID mechanism. It is used across TP-Link's managed switch line during SNMP discovery/inventory so an NMS can map a device to the correct capability set. Engineers can download the TPLINK-PRODUCTS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TPLINK-PRODUCTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- TP-Link managed switch
Monitoring Examples
This module is a product-identity/OID registration tree, not a data-bearing MIB — it defines OID branches for TP-Link product models rather than any monitorable runtime objects, so there is no realistic polling scenario to describe. An NMS uses the returned sysObjectID (which resolves into this tree) purely to identify which TP-Link switch model it is managing.
