Description: Defines Trapeze Networks external server SNMP textual conventions for authentication server data types.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-EXTERNAL-SERVER-TC?
This MIB module is a Textual Conventions (TC) definition file published by Trapeze Networks (later part of Juniper Networks) for its wireless LAN switches and controllers. Rather than defining monitorable objects itself, it establishes shared SNMP data types — such as enumerations for authentication server types (RADIUS, LDAP, etc.) and related status codes — that other Trapeze MIB modules reuse when describing external authentication/authorization server configuration. Because it contains no MODULE-IDENTITY scalars or tables of its own, it has no direct role in exposing hardware or software health metrics; instead it underpins other Trapeze MIBs that do report wireless switch and access-point status. It has an implicit dependency on the broader Trapeze Networks MIB suite that imports these conventions, and indirectly on SNMPv2-SMI/SNMPv2-TC for its base syntax. It would be found on any network running Trapeze (Juniper) wireless switch controllers alongside the full Trapeze MIB set, never deployed or polled standalone. Engineers can download the TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-EXTERNAL-SERVER-TC file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TRAPEZE-NETWORKS-EXTERNAL-SERVER-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Trapeze Networks (Juniper) wireless LAN switch/controller
Monitoring Examples
This is a pure Textual Conventions module — it defines shared SNMP data types (e.g., enumerated external-authentication-server types) rather than any pollable scalar or table objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; its only function is to be imported by other Trapeze Networks MIBs that use these type definitions for RADIUS/LDAP server configuration objects.
