Description: Defines TippingPoint TPA MIBs root OID structure and top-level module registration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TPT-TPAMIBS-MIB?

TPT-TPAMIBS-MIB is the top-level registration MIB for Trend Micro's TippingPoint TPA (Threat Protection Appliance/Advisor) product line, establishing the OID subtree under which TippingPoint's TPA-specific management objects and event/trap definitions are organized. It does not define runtime data objects itself; it exists solely to declare the module identity and root object identifiers that dependent TPA MIB modules attach to. Every functional TippingPoint TPA object ultimately registers beneath a TPT-TPAMIBS-MIB OID, giving the family of dependent modules a single, stable parent branch. Because it is a pure root/registration module, it has no direct hardware or software status objects (no uptime, CPU, memory, or fault data) to monitor on its own. It functions strictly as a structural dependency for the broader family of TippingPoint TPA MIB modules. It is deployed as a prerequisite MIB wherever TippingPoint intrusion-prevention/threat-protection appliances are managed via SNMP.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TPT-TPAMIBS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Trend Micro TippingPoint TPA/IPS product line, entire range (base enterprise OID registration, no data objects)

Monitoring Examples

TPT-TPAMIBS-MIB has no sample objects because it is a root registration module rather than a data-bearing one — it defines only the OID subtree and module identity that other TippingPoint TPA MIBs use to register their tables and traps. There is no monitoring scenario to describe for this module in isolation; it must simply be compiled/loaded before the functional TPA MIBs that expose actual security-event and appliance-status data.
