Description: Manages TP-Link switch port speed, duplex, flow control, and administrative state configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TPLINK-PORTCONFIG-MIB?

TPLINK-PORTCONFIG-MIB is a TP-Link proprietary MIB for configuring per-port Ethernet parameters on TP-Link managed switches. It defines a port configuration table covering administrative status, speed, duplex mode, flow control, jumbo frame support, and link aggregation group (LAG) membership. Its monitoring value is primarily configuration/software status: an administrator can confirm each port's configured speed/duplex and administrative state, and use the associated notifications subtree to be alerted to port configuration changes. It is a vendor-specific MIB that complements standard IF-MIB interface counters rather than replacing them, focusing on TP-Link's own configuration knobs. It is used in small-to-medium business networks deploying TP-Link managed or smart switches. Engineers can download the TPLINK-PORTCONFIG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TPLINK-PORTCONFIG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • TP-Link managed/smart Ethernet switch

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll tpPortConfigTable entries such as tpPortConfigSpeed, tpPortConfigDuplex, and tpPortConfigStatus to confirm a port is administratively enabled and running at the expected speed/duplex, catching a mismatch that could explain poor throughput. Checking tpPortConfigLAG membership verifies link aggregation is correctly grouping the intended ports, and the tplinkPortConfigNotifications group would alert on unexpected configuration changes such as flow control or jumbo frame settings being toggled.

What Can Be Monitored

  • port administrative status
  • port speed and duplex mode
  • flow control setting
  • jumbo frame enablement
  • link aggregation group membership
