Description: Defines Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR media gateway textual conventions for protocol objects.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TIMETRA-TC-MG-MIB?
This is a Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent proprietary MIB that defines shared SNMP Textual Conventions (TC) used by media-gateway-related instrumentation across the SROS product line. It contains no monitorable runtime objects itself; instead it defines reusable data types (enumerations, syntax constraints) that other TIMETRA-* MIBs reference for consistent representation of media-gateway-specific values. As a pure textual-conventions module it has no direct role in exposing hardware or software status -- its purpose is purely to standardize how other modules describe such status. Every MIB that imports from it depends on it for type definitions, making it a foundational dependency rather than a monitoring target in its own right. It's deployed alongside other Nokia SROS MIBs wherever media-gateway functionality needs consistently-typed SNMP objects. Engineers can download the TIMETRA-TC-MG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIMETRA-TC-MG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- vendor-specific (Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent SROS) -- supporting definitions module, not tied to a monitorable device role of its own
Monitoring Examples
This module is a textual-convention (TC) support MIB with no data-instance objects of its own -- it has no tables, counters, or status objects to poll, consistent with the empty sample_objects list. Its sole function is to supply shared type definitions that other TIMETRA-* MIBs IMPORT and reference when defining their own monitorable objects, so any real monitoring scenario would be described under those dependent MIBs instead.
