tmnxPtpLogSyncInterval

Module: TIMETRA-SAS-PTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-SAS-PTP-MIB::tmnxPtpLogSyncInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.6.2.2.2.74.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TmnxPtpLogInterval

Access: read-write

Description: The value of tmnxPtpLogSyncInterval specifies the sync/delay_req packet rates

What is tmnxPtpLogSyncInterval?

This value sets the logarithmic rate at which PTP (Precision Time Protocol) sync and delay-request messages are sent, using the standard PTP log-interval encoding where the number represents a power-of-two seconds interval, constrained here to -6 through -3. Administrators tune this to balance clock-sync precision against network overhead, since a faster, more negative interval sends more sync packets for tighter synchronization at the cost of more bandwidth. For example, a value of -6 sends a sync message roughly every 15.6 milliseconds, the fastest allowed rate on this system.

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.6.2.2.2.74.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TIMETRA-SAS-PTP-MIB::tmnxPtpLogSyncInterval.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.6.2.2.2.74.1.1.1 s <value>
