The value of tFilterRSTTimeout specifies the amount of time in seconds that is allowed for receiving a response from the far end host. If a reply is not received within this time the far end host is considered unresponsive.

What is tFilterRSTTimeout?

This OID holds the number of seconds to wait for a response when the filter sends a test packet (RST frame) to check if a remote host is reachable. It controls how long before declaring a host unresponsive. A network administrator would increase this value on high-latency links to prevent false positives when legitimate hosts simply take longer to reply.
