Description: Manages Tiara Networks WAN router DSX T1 interface configuration and performance data.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TIARA-NETWORKS-DSX-TE1-MIB?

This MIB module manages the T1/E1 (DSX) WAN interface modules on Tiara Networks routers, covering the physical and line-level configuration of these digital circuits. It exposes per-line configuration data such as service mode, line mode/type/code, line build-out and cable length, transmit clock source, and time-slot mapping, alongside trap notifications for line-level alarm conditions like RAI (Remote Alarm Indication). It is used to monitor hardware/circuit status of the T1/E1 physical layer, such as line alarms, cable length settings, and clocking, which directly reflect the health of the underlying leased-line or carrier circuit rather than higher-layer traffic. It follows the general structure of IETF DS1/E1 interface MIB conventions while being a Tiara-specific implementation. It is deployed on Tiara Networks WAN routers connecting to carrier-provided T1 or E1 leased lines. Engineers can download the TIARA-NETWORKS-DSX-TE1-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIARA-NETWORKS-DSX-TE1-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Tiara Networks WAN router (T1/E1 module)

Monitoring Examples

A WAN engineer would poll dsxT1E1IfConfigLineType and dsxT1E1IfConfigLineCode to confirm the interface is set to match the carrier's provisioned framing and line coding (e.g., ESF/B8ZS), and check dsxT1E1IfConfigRaiAlarm to see whether the far end is reporting a remote alarm indication signaling a fault on that leg of the circuit. dsxT1E1IfConfigCableLength and dsxT1E1IfConfigLBO would be reviewed after a line reports excessive errors, since an incorrect line build-out setting for the actual cable run is a common cause of T1/E1 signal degradation. The dsxT1E1Traps notification group alerts operators immediately when such alarm conditions occur, rather than requiring constant polling of the dsxT1E1IfConfigLineTable.

What Can Be Monitored

  • T1/E1 line alarms (RAI)
  • line mode/type/code configuration
  • cable length/line build-out
  • transmit clock source
  • time-slot mapping
