Description: Provides the Tiara Networks DSX T1 textual conventions used by interface MIB objects.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TIARA-NETWORKS-DSX-TC-MIB?
TIARA-NETWORKS-DSX-TC-MIB is a textual-conventions and conformance-group module from Tiara Networks defining shared types for DSX (T1/E1 and T3/E3) digital signal cross-connect interfaces. Rather than exposing its own runtime data tables, it defines conformance groups (dsxT1E1IfGroup, dsxT3E3IfGroup) that other interface MIBs on Tiara equipment reference, so its role is definitional/support rather than data-bearing. Because of this, it does not itself carry hardware/software status objects like uptime or utilization — actual T1/E1 and T3/E3 line status monitoring happens through the interface MIBs that import these conventions. It closely mirrors, and depends on, the structure of the standard IETF DS1/DS3 interface MIB conventions. It is used on Tiara Networks access/aggregation equipment that terminates T1/E1 or T3/E3 circuits. Engineers can download the TIARA-NETWORKS-DSX-TC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIARA-NETWORKS-DSX-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Tiara Networks access/aggregation devices with T1/E1 or T3/E3 interfaces
Monitoring Examples
This module's sample objects — dsxMIB, dsxT1E1IfGroup, and dsxT3E3IfGroup — are conformance/group definitions rather than pollable runtime objects, so there are no counters or status values to poll directly from this MIB itself. Actual monitoring of T1/E1 or T3/E3 line status, errors, or alarms would be done through the separate interface MIB tables that import these textual conventions and conformance groups. It would be dishonest to invent a runtime monitoring scenario for a module that is fundamentally a shared-type/conformance definition file.

RFC description
Defines Tiara Networks DSX T1 textual conventions for interface MIB objects.
Start monitoring Tiara Networks access/aggregation devices with T1/E1 or T3/E3 interfaces (shared DSX textual conventions) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
