What Is TIARA-NETWORKS-SMI?
TIARA-NETWORKS-SMI defines the Structure of Management Information (SMI) for Tiara Networks, a broadband/multi-service access equipment vendor, establishing the enterprise OID hierarchy under which the company's product MIBs register their managed objects. Like other SMI root modules, it does not itself expose interface, environmental, or performance data — it only allocates the private branch and naming convention that downstream Tiara MIBs use. Consequently it carries no direct hardware or software status objects such as uptime, temperature, or CPU load; those are defined in whatever Tiara device MIBs sit beneath this tree. Its only "dependency" is on the standard SNMPv2-SMI enterprise-numbering mechanism used by all vendor SMI modules to obtain a private OID branch. In practice this module would be loaded as a prerequisite before any Tiara Networks product MIB so that OID references resolve correctly in an NMS or MIB browser. Administrators typically perform a TIARA-NETWORKS-SMI download and compile it first, since every downstream Tiara product MIB depends on this module to resolve its object identifiers.

This module contains only the top-level SMI/registration nodes for the Tiara Networks enterprise branch and no sample runtime objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe honestly — it is a naming-hierarchy module, not a data-bearing one. An administrator would need the actual Tiara Networks product MIBs (rooted under this SMI) to poll any device status.
