Category: DSL and xDSL Access, System Management

Description: Manages Terawave DSL access system-level configuration, inventory, and operational state.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TERAWAVE-terasystem-MIB?

TERAWAVE-terasystem-MIB provides system-level management for Terawave DSL access platforms, a telecom access-network vendor's equipment. It exposes system time/clock data and an internal event logging subsystem, including per-category log descriptions, log status, and individual logged messages, rather than interface or line-level detail. It is used to monitor the overall software/system status of the access device — verifying system clock accuracy and reviewing the log history for recurring errors or fault patterns, which serves as a proxy for general device health and stability. It appears to be a self-contained Terawave enterprise module without dependency on shared logging standards. It is deployed on Terawave DSL access system chassis at telco access sites, queried by operators during fault diagnosis. Engineers can download the TERAWAVE-terasystem-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TERAWAVE-terasystem-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Terawave DSL access system

Monitoring Examples

teraSystemCurrTime can be compared against teraSystemTime to confirm the device's clock is properly synchronized, while teraLogTable and teraLogTableEntry store individual log entries via teraLogMsgIndex and teraLogMsgNumber. An operator troubleshooting an intermittent fault would scan the log table for a cluster of matching teraLogMsgNumber values, then check teraLogNumberTable's teraLogNumberDescr and teraLogNumberStatus to understand what that log category represents and whether it is currently active.

What Can Be Monitored

  • system clock/time synchronization
  • system log message history
  • log category description and status
  • log clear operations
