Description: Manages Terawave DSL access event and alarm reporting configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TERAWAVE-teraEvent-MIB?

TERAWAVE-teraEvent-MIB manages event and alarm reporting configuration for Terawave DSL access equipment, a class of broadband access multiplexers used by carriers. It exposes a local event table recording per-port and per-card events, including the port type, card type, slot and physical port location, event type, severity, timestamp, and a descriptive message. This is a hardware/service fault monitoring MIB: entries in teraLocalEventTable reveal card- and port-level faults or state changes (e.g., a line card or port going into an alarm state), letting an operator correlate specific slots and ports with reported issues and their severity level. It is a self-contained Terawave enterprise MIB with no stated dependency on external standard MIBs, relying on its own event/trap objects (teratraps, teraAlarms) for notification delivery. It is deployed in carrier or ISP DSL access network operations centers monitoring multiplexer shelves for line and card health. Engineers can download the TERAWAVE-teraEvent-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TERAWAVE-teraEvent-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Terawave DSL access multiplexers

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll teraLocalEventTable/teraLocalEventTableEntry filtering on teraLocalEventSeverity to find high-severity events, then use teraLocalEventSlot and teraLocalEventPhysPort to pinpoint which card and port raised the alarm. teraLocalEventMessage supplies a human-readable description (e.g., a line fault or port down condition) while teraLocalEventTime lets the operator determine how recently the fault occurred.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-port/card event severity
  • event type and timestamp
  • affected slot and physical port
  • event description messages
