What Is TELDAT-TRAP-TVRP-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-TVRP-MIB is a Teldat enterprise MIB dedicated to SNMP trap/notification definitions for the TVRP protocol's event subsystem on Teldat routers. It exposes a set of per-instance group-number objects, tvrp1-group-number through tvrp12-group-number, used as varbinds within trap notifications, organized under a notifications group and prefix. It is used purely for fault/event monitoring -- consuming TVRP-related traps that report protocol-level events such as group state changes on the router, giving visibility into an operationally relevant software subsystem's status changes -- rather than exposing pollable configuration or hardware objects directly. Being a notification-only MIB tied specifically to TVRP, it depends on the underlying TVRP protocol implementation and Teldat's broader trap/notification MIB conventions. It is typically deployed on Teldat routers in environments using the TVRP protocol, where an NMS is configured to receive and log TVRP event traps for troubleshooting. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-TVRP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-TVRP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat routers

Monitoring Examples

An NMS would register to receive traps under tvrpNotifications/tvrpNotificationsPrefix and use the accompanying tvrp1-group-number through tvrp12-group-number varbinds to identify which of up to twelve TVRP groups generated the event. A burst of traps referencing tvrpEventsGroup with an unexpected group number could indicate a TVRP session flapping or failing on one specific group, prompting further investigation on that router.

What Can Be Monitored

  • TVRP group event notifications
  • TVRP group number identification (up to 12 groups)
  • TVRP event subsystem state changes
