Category: Teldat Router Management, Teldat Trap Notifications

Description: Defines Teldat router NSLA (network SLA) event trap notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-NSLA-MIB?

The TELDAT-TRAP-NSLA-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP notification module for Teldat's NSLA (Network Service-Level Agreement / Network SLA) subsystem, which actively probes network performance and raises alarms against configured thresholds. It exposes filter IDs, alarm IDs, advisor IDs, and free-text event/output detail tied to SLA measurement events rather than the raw measurement data itself. Its monitoring purpose is squarely about software-level SLA compliance — flagging when a configured performance filter or alarm threshold has been triggered, functioning as an automated early-warning system for network performance degradation as observed from the router. It is Teldat's own SLA framework and does not appear tied to the IETF DISMAN-PING-MIB or a similar standard, though conceptually related. It is deployed on Teldat routers configured with NSLA probes/filters/alarms to continuously validate WAN or service performance against SLA targets. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-NSLA-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-NSLA-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat router (Network SLA monitoring feature)

Monitoring Examples

A trap carrying nsla4_alarm_id and nsla4_event_detail tells an operator exactly which configured SLA alarm fired and why, while nsla2_filter_id and nsla2_event_detail identify which measurement filter generated the event. nsla5_advisor_id with nsla5_event_detail points to the 'advisor' rule that triggered, useful for tracing a chain of SLA threshold breaches back to the specific NSLA configuration object responsible.

What Can Be Monitored

  • triggered SLA alarm ID
  • triggered filter ID
  • advisor rule ID
  • SLA event detail text
  • output detail text
