Description: Defines Teldat router BSPF (backup SPF routing) event trap notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-BSPF-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-BSPF-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Teldat defining SNMP trap notifications from the router's BSPF (a security/anti-spoofing filtering feature, evaluating source/destination MAC and IP behavior) event subsystem. It is a notifications-only module exposing trap variable bindings describing source/destination MAC addresses, ports, protocol, interface, and spoofed address detections rather than polled runtime counters. Its monitoring purpose is security fault/event visibility: it alerts a management station in real time when the device's BSPF filtering detects suspicious traffic patterns, such as an address believed to be spoofed on a given interface, helping operators spot potential spoofing or anti-spoofing policy triggers as they occur. It depends on the BSPF security feature's internal detection logic within Teldat router software rather than on other standard MIBs. It is typically deployed on Teldat routers at network edges where anti-spoofing protections are enforced, and administrators can download the TELDAT-TRAP-BSPF-MIB file directly to load these trap definitions into their SNMP manager.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-BSPF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat enterprise/carrier routers

Monitoring Examples

A monitoring system would receive a trap carrying bspf1-src-mac, bspf1-dst-mac, bspf1-src-port, bspf1-dst-port, bspf1-protocol, and bspf1-interface to identify exactly which flow triggered a BSPF event, and a trap with bspf2-spoof-addr, bspf2-protocol, and bspf2-interface to flag a specific address suspected of being spoofed on that interface. A trap containing bspf3-mac-addr and bspf3-spoof-addr together would help correlate a suspicious MAC address with the spoofed IP it claimed.
