Category: Teldat Router Management, Teldat Trap Notifications

Description: Defines Teldat router HTTP event trap notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-HTTP-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-HTTP-MIB is a Teldat enterprise MIB defining SNMP trap notifications generated by the HTTP probe/event subsystem on Teldat routers. It exposes trap varbinds describing HTTP probe identifiers, target host and URL, response bytes, response time, bits-per-second throughput, DNS/TCP timing breakdown, and an overall device status flag for the monitored HTTP transaction. Rather than polled counters, this is a fault/event MIB whose traps let an administrator detect when an HTTP-based service check to a monitored host has degraded or failed, effectively using the router as an active HTTP health-check agent. It depends on Teldat's broader trap-event architecture shared across other TELDAT-TRAP-* MIBs (e.g. NTP, TNIP) for a consistent notification framework. It is deployed on Teldat routers configured with IP SLA-style HTTP probes to monitor the health of remote web services from a branch or edge location. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-HTTP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-HTTP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat router

Monitoring Examples

When an HTTP probe trap fires, an NMS extracts http3-host and http3-url to identify which monitored web service triggered it, and inspects http4-time, http4-bps, and http4-bytes to quantify whether the response was slow or truncated. The http4-device-status varbind indicates overall probe success or failure, while http4-time-dns and http4-time-tcp help isolate whether a DNS lookup delay or TCP connection delay caused the alert.

What Can Be Monitored

  • HTTP probe host and URL
  • HTTP response time and throughput
  • HTTP response byte count
  • DNS and TCP connection timing
  • HTTP probe device status
