Category: Power and UPS
Description: Manages SYNSO energy monitoring objects including power consumption and energy meter readings.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SYNSO-ENMIB?
SYNSO-ENMIB is a vendor MIB from SYNSO (SynAccess/SYNSO UPS and power-monitoring product line) covering energy and environmental monitoring objects, including power consumption, energy meter readings, and ambient conditions around UPS or power-distribution equipment. It exposes environmental sensor data, specifically temperature and humidity readings taken at multiple sensor points, each with configured low/high thresholds and a current reading, alongside broader energy-measurement objects. This MIB is squarely about monitoring the physical operating environment of hardware: it lets an administrator track ambient temperature and humidity around racks or UPS units to catch cooling failures or humidity excursions before they cause equipment damage, complementing (rather than replacing) the device's own internal hardware health reporting. It does not show obvious dependency on other standard MIBs beyond general SNMP SMI conventions, appearing to be a largely self-contained enterprise MIB. It is typically deployed in data center or telecom equipment rooms where SYNSO UPS/power and environmental monitoring units are installed alongside racks of networking or server equipment. Engineers can download the SYNSO-ENMIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SYNSO-ENMIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- SYNSO UPS/power monitoring unit
- data center environmental sensor package
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll the syupsEnvironTemperatureTable, indexed by syupsEnvironTemperatureIndex, to read syupsEnvironTemperatureCurrent against the configured syupsEnvironTemperatureLow and syupsEnvironTemperatureHigh thresholds for each labeled sensor in syupsEnvironTemperatureDescription. A similar syupsEnvironHumidityTable (indexed via syupsEnvironHumidityEntry entries) would be checked for humidity readings. A current temperature reading exceeding syupsEnvironTemperatureHigh would reveal a cooling failure in the room housing the monitored equipment before it causes hardware damage.
What Can Be Monitored
- ambient temperature per sensor
- temperature high/low thresholds
- ambient humidity per sensor
- energy/power consumption readings
