Category: Switch Management - D-Link
Description: Manages Layer 2 switching features including VLANs, STP, and MAC tables on D-Link DES-3x50 switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SW-DES3x50-L2MGMT-MIB?
SW-DES3x50-L2MGMT-MIB is a D-Link proprietary MIB that defines the Layer 2 network management structure for the DES-3x50 switch series. It groups together Layer 2 features such as VLAN membership, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) state, and MAC address table management under a single enterprise MIB tree rather than exposing standalone runtime objects itself. Administrators rely on the modules built under this structure to monitor the software health of the switch's Layer 2 forwarding plane, for example detecting STP topology changes, VLAN misconfiguration, or MAC table instability that could point to a bridging loop or a failing port. The module functions as a proprietary root organizing other, more specific D-Link L2 MIBs (VLAN, bridge, filter, and similar) rather than depending on external IETF standards directly. It is deployed exclusively on D-Link DES-3x50 series managed Ethernet switches in enterprise LAN environments. Engineers can download the SW-DES3x50-L2MGMT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SW-DES3x50-L2MGMT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- D-Link DES-3x50 series managed Ethernet switch
Monitoring Examples
The sampled source for this MIB provided no concrete object or table names, only its structural description as an organizing module for Layer 2 management. In practice, an admin would use the modules grouped under this structure to check VLAN membership consistency, STP port state, and MAC table entries on a DES-3x50 switch. A VLAN mismatch or a port stuck outside the STP forwarding state under this structure would explain a corresponding loss of Layer 2 connectivity.
What Can Be Monitored
- VLAN membership state
- spanning tree port state
- MAC address table entries
- Layer 2 forwarding configuration

| INT swL2IGMPInfoTxQueryCount | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.2.11.4.1.3 | INTEGER | read-only | This object indicates the send count of IGMP query messages, in per-VLAN basis. In case of IGMP timer expiration, the switch sends IGMP query packets to related VLAN member ports and increment this object by 1. |
| swL2IGMPInfoTable | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.2.11.5 | not-accessible | The table containing current IGMP information which captured by this device, provided that swL2DevCtrlIGMPSnooping and swL2IGMPCtrlState of associated VLAN entry are all enabled. Note that the priority of IGMP table entries is lower than Filtering Table, i.e. if there is a table hash collision between the entries of IGMP Table and Filtering Table inside the switch H/W address table, then Filtering Table entry overwrite the colliding entry of IGMP Table. See swL2FilterMgmt description also. | |
| swL2IGMPInfoEntry | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.2.11.5.1 | not-accessible | Information about current IGMP information which captured by this device, provided that swL2DevCtrlIGMPSnooping and swL2IGMPCtrlState of associated VLAN entry are all enabled. | |
| INT swL2IGMPVid | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.2.11.5.1.1 | INTEGER | read-only | This object indicates the Vid of individual IGMP table entry. It shows the Vid of IGMP report information captured on network. |
| IP swL2IGMPGroupIpAddr | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.2.11.5.1.2 | IpAddress | read-only | This object is identify group ip address which is captured from IGMP packet, in per-Vlan basis. |

| POR swL2IGMPPortMap | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.2.11.5.1.4 | PortList | read-only | This object indicates which ports are belong to the same multicast group, in per-Vlan basis. Each multicast group has a octect string to indicate with port map. The most significant bit represents the lowest numbered port, and the least significant bit represents the highest numbered port. Thus, each port of the switch is represented by a single bit within the value of this object. If that bit has a value of '1' then that port is included in the set of ports; the port is not included if its bit has a value of '0'(Note that the setting of the bit corresponding to the port from which a frame is received is irrelevant). The 4 octets is represent one unit port according its logic port. If the unit less 32 port, the other port don't care just fill zero. |
| INT swL2IGMPIpGroupReportCount | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.2.11.5.1.5 | INTEGER | read-only | This object indicate how much report packet was receive by our device corresponding with this entry from IGMP function enabled, in per-Vlan basis. |

| INT swL2TrafficCtrlBMStromthreshold | 1.3.6.1.4.1.171.11.2.13.1.1.3 | INTEGER | read-write | This object to decide how much thousand packets per second broadcast/multicast (depend on swL2TrafficCtrlBcastStromCtrl, swL2TrafficCtrlMcastStromCtrl or swL2TrafficCtrlDlfStromCtrl objects whether is enabled) will active storm control. Whenever a port reaches its configured amount of packets in the one second time interval, the device will start dropping that type of packet, until the time interval has expired. Once the time interval has expired, the device will start forwarding that type of packet. |
