What Is STN-SESSION-MIB?

STN-SESSION-MIB is a Spring Tide Networks (a broadband service-router vendor later acquired by Lucent) enterprise MIB for tracking subscriber session state on broadband/dial access service platforms. It exposes session-level data including authentication results and the services a subscriber's session is bound to. Its monitoring value is a software/service-status one: it lets an operator confirm whether subscriber sessions are successfully authenticated and correctly bound to their intended services, which is central to diagnosing access or service-delivery problems for broadband/ISP subscribers. It is a standalone Spring Tide enterprise MIB, likely complementing the vendor's broader suite of session and service-management MIBs, without an evident dependency on an external IETF standard. It is typically deployed on Spring Tide service routers used by broadband or dial-up ISPs for subscriber session management at the network edge. Engineers can download the STN-SESSION-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
