Description: Manages NAG SNR-ERD-2 environmental relay device sensor readings, relay outputs, and alarm thresholds.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SNR-ERD-2?

SNR-ERD-2 is a vendor-specific MIB for the NAG (SNR) ERD-2 environmental relay/monitoring device, commonly used to watch equipment room or telecom cabinet conditions. It exposes IP configuration objects for the device itself alongside a set of sensor and relay contact objects covering multiple monitored inputs, remote control/reset contacts, and alarm counters. Its central purpose is monitoring hardware status: it reports sensor signal states across several contacts, tracks alarm and reset event counts (numberOfAlarmPositives, numberOfResetPositives), and allows remote actuation of relay contacts, making it a classic environmental/facility monitoring MIB rather than a network device MIB. It appears to be a self-contained proprietary MIB without strong dependency on standard IETF MIBs beyond basic IP addressing conventions. It is deployed in telecom shelters, server rooms, and equipment cabinets to monitor door contacts, environmental sensors, and alarm relays remotely via SNMP using the SNR-ERD-2 MIB.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SNR-ERD-2. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • NAG SNR-ERD-2 environmental relay/alarm monitoring unit

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll monitorAnySensorSignal1contact4, monitorAnySensorSignal2contact7, and monitorAnySensorSignal3contact9 to check the current state of three independent sensor inputs (e.g., door, smoke, or water sensors), and watch numberOfAlarmPositives to see how many times an alarm condition has triggered. The remoteControlContact8 and resetSmartContact6 objects would be used to remotely reset an alarm or actuate a relay, while ipMonitoringDevice and ipForTrap confirm where trap notifications are being sent.

What Can Be Monitored

  • sensor contact signal states
  • alarm event count
  • reset event count
  • remote relay contact control
  • trap destination IP configuration
