Description: Manages SIAE MICROELETTRONICA microwave radio unit configuration, identity, and operational state.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SIAE-UNIT-MIB?
SIAE-UNIT-MIB is a proprietary inventory and configuration MIB from SIAE MICROELETTRONICA covering the replaceable hardware cards ("units") within its microwave radio platforms. It exposes identity, configuration, and operational-state data for each unit, making it a core hardware-status MIB for the device. Its monitoring value centers on hardware health: it lets an administrator confirm each replaceable card's operational state (in service, standby, faulty, or absent), track unit identity/serial information, and detect a card that has failed or been swapped, which is fundamental to fault detection and inventory accuracy on microwave radio equipment. It works together with SIAE-EQUIPTYPE-MIB (for type identification) and feeds status into SIAE's alarm and change-log MIBs. It is deployed on SIAE microwave radio nodes in telecom backhaul networks, used both for day-to-day fault monitoring and for hardware inventory audits. Engineers can download the SIAE-UNIT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SIAE-UNIT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- SIAE MICROELETTRONICA microwave radio equipment
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll the unit table to check the operational state of each replaceable card (e.g. a modem or IF unit) in a radio node, looking for a state other than 'normal' or 'in service'. A unit reporting a faulty or missing state, cross-referenced with the equipment-type registry, immediately identifies which specific card needs replacement and its model. Tracking unit identity fields over time also detects unauthorized or unexpected hardware swaps.
What Can Be Monitored
- replaceable unit/card operational state
- unit identity and serial information
- unit presence/absence
- hardware inventory per node
